QUICK LINKS:  Why Jhpiego?   |   Examples of Partnerships   |   How to Partner

Building health care capacity throughout the world requires a deep and broad spectrum of partnerships with international, national and community-level organizations. Jhpiego attributes much of its success to maintaining these key relationships, whether they take the form of donor support, business partners, subcontractors, association members, or as peers and colleagues. At Jhpiego, these relationships are highly valued.

Jhpiego collaborates with local ministries of health, nongovernmental organizations, faith-based organizations, hospitals and clinics, and communities in the countries where we work. We bring health care solutions directly to women and children, relying on a variety of funders worldwide. These include corporate partners like Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson; public organizations like the United States Agency for International Development, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the UK Department for International Development and the World Health Organization; and private foundation partners like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the MacArthur Foundation.

Why Jhpiego?

For over 30 years, Jhpiego has been a leader in producing national- to grassroot-level health outcomes that have an impact on the lives of women and families throughout the developing world. As an affiliate of The Johns Hopkins University, Jhpiego has access to world experts from the JHU Schools of Nursing, Medicine and Public Health to help support its overseas work. Using a standards-based management approach, Jhpiego has transferred skills in providing quality health services—in family planning and reproductive health, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, and human resources for health—to more than 25,000 health care professionals in more than 100 countries.

Although a non-profit organization, Jhpiego understands business. Setting us apart from many other health groups, Jhpiego’s senior management team has 60 years of collective corporate experience in a variety of sectors. As such, Jhpiego has a working knowledge of and access to trade networks throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, and also belongs to numerous trade associations and overseas American Chambers of Commerce (Amchams).

Because of our strong presence in both the global health and business arenas, Jhpiego is uniquely positioned to offer partnerships that can lead to documented health benefits for communities and to a clearly identifiable return on investments.
